Miki Sugiura Miki’s muzikale training begon al op vroege leeftijd, ze speelde viool en zong in het kinderkoor van Berlijn. In 1996 begon ze echter in Tokyo, onder sterke invloed van Pappa Tarahumara (Japans’ nummer 1 moderne dans theater), haar vocale improvisatie onderzoek te ontwikkelen. Vanaf dat moment streeft ze naar een bepaalde fysieke en somatische benadering
van haar stemgeluid, compositie en improvisatie. Haar vocale performance is omschreven als “een gevoelige en kleurrijke combinatie van innerlijke resonanties met een emotionele tint”.

Diego Espinosa Diego Espinosa is geboren en getogen in Mexico en is een percussionist in hart en nieren. Diego is reeds in veel verschillende muziekprojecten met uiteenlopende stijlen betrokken geweest. Hij is lid van de Amsterdam Percussion Group sinds 2002 en doet ook mee met Zigurat (opgericht door Theo Loevendie in 2004), het Soil Ensemble, het Atlas Ensemble, The Electronic Hammer (live electronics en percussie solo) en Ear Massage percussion Quartet. Je ziet hem ook in het Nieuwe Ensemble en de Alicia Sanchez Dance Company (als percussionist, danser en acteur).

Jan Trüzschler von Falkenstein De oorspronkelijk uit München afkomstige Jan Trüzschler von Falkenstein woont tegenwoordig in Den Haag. Hij begon zijn muzikale carrière in een experimentele punk band genaamd “das Wahnsin” (1990-1994). Hiervoor studeerde Jan Media and Design aan de Bauhaus universiteit in Weimar waar die zich voornamelijk bezig hield met geluidsinstallaties. Tegenwoordig vooral geinteresseert in (tape) composities en improvisatie en schrijven van software. Hij maakt buitengewoon vernuftig gebruik van Supercollider. In deze performance zal hij gebruik maken van verschillende zelf gemaakte controllers. http://falkenst.sampleAndHold.org/

EXTRA CONCERT: SKIF wordt gevormd door Jeff Carey aka 87central (US/NL - laptop/SuperCollider) en Robert van Heumen aka humanelectric (NL laptop/LiSa). Met deels zelfontworpen software brengt het duo electronische 'melodic melancholy and sonic bursts'. http://humanelectric.net

Miki started early with her musical training by playing violin and singing in a children's choir in Berlin. But in 1996 she started developing her vocal improvisation research in Tokyo under the strong influence of the works of Japanese leading contemporary dance theatre company, Pappa Tarahumara. Since then she pursues physical and somatic approaches for voice and has performed in the interdiciplinary fields of vocal/instrumental composition and improvisation, dance/Butoh , vocal dance(by Patricia Bardi) and recently in puppetry theatre (with Urlike Quade). She also works as dramaturg for dance pieces and is a Dutch historian. Her voice performance is described as "a sensitive and colourfull interplay of inner resonances with emotional
touches".

Diego Espinosa
Diego Espinosa is born and raised in Mexico and is a very talented percussionist. He has been involved in many music projects with a range of diffent styles. Graduated with a M.M. from the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, he has been very active performing solo and with ensembles. He is member of the Amsterdam Percussion Group since 2002 and is also involved in Zigurat (founded by Theo Loevendie in 2004), Soil Ensemble, Atlas Ensemble ,The Electronic Hammer (live electronics and percussion solo) and Ear Massage percussion quartet (3rd prize in The International Percussion Competition in Luxembourg 2005). He also plays for the Nieuwe Ensemble and the Alicia Sanchez Dance Company (as a percussionist, dancer and actor).

Jan Trüzschler von Falkenstein
Originally from Munich, Jan Trüzschler von Falkenstein is currently living in The Hague. He started his career in an experimental punk band 'das Wahnsinn' (1990-1994). He studied Media Design at Bauhaus University, Weimar, and focused on sound installations. In 2003 he finished his BA at the Institute for Sonology, The Hague, where he is currently finishing his 2nd phase study. He is active in the field of (tape) compositions as well as of improvisation. Most of the software, which he uses, he writes himself, making extensive use of SuperCollider. In his live performances he plays various self-made controllers. http://falkenst.sampleAndHold.org/
