Gaspare Balducci's label Cartilage recs introduced us in 2008 to the likes of B.J. Snowden and Junky Brewster. This Sunday the 25th the story continuous with Internet2, Norman Bambi and Scarlatti goes Electro. Together with the yeti-esk wallpaper by Loubard and the exotic tunes by dj Arc de Triomphe, this is going to be a party in full colour!! Internet2 (Spain) Internet2 is a musical project from the Comte d’Urgell art collective from Barcelona. Originally started as a woodwind amateur band but after few concerts Carlos Carbonell continued solo with a mystical show using a giant cardboard piano. The show is based on charming dancing, popular music cliches, and has some technological-magic. Nick Curry (alias Momus) speaks highly of his stage esthetics and sees Internet2 as a sign Spain is producing the more interesting and fresh culture of Europe right now. Carlos Carbonell has played at the Pompidou Art Center and shared the stage with Keiji Haino. www.myspace.com/internet2 www.comtedurgell.com/ Norman Bambi (France) Norman Bambi is the alter ego of Luc Jolivet. A gifted musician and sounddesigner, who piles up bubbly pop marvels up in his tiny garret at the far end of a field in Normandy. With keyboards, a banjo, some beat-boxes stuck on 171BPM, he whimpers, yoddles, funks and raps out a whole bunch of songs. From 2001 he played with the Juicy Panic duo in Europe & Japan, sharing stage with Blechtum from Blechdom, Max Tundra, Agaskodo Teliverek and Dragibus, In 2007, Norman Bambi's first album received enthousiastic press reviews. The same year he joined forces with Gangpol & Mit and Mami Chan to create the musical & visual show for kids: CARTON PARK. www.myspace.com/normannorman www.myspace.com/cartonpark Scarlatti Goes Electro (France) During harpsichord studies, Antoine Souchav fell in love with Domenico Scarlatti’s virtuoso & obsessional music. As a huge fan of early electronic musics, he began remixing those sonatas along with his partner Michel Banane Jr, adding a modern & concrete touch to those marvellous pieces of 18th century music. The results are electronic miniatures that are spontaneous, melodic, and sometimes schizophrenic. In his free adaptations of the original scores, he decided to forget about the rubato and to give a real importance to instrumental interpretation. "...Scarlatti Goes Electro are rolling over the classic structures leading to an explosive edge between madness and childish, overeuphoric glam. You can feel deep respect in their music for the baroque kings laying under the Guillotine while they cut the rope with a big smile on their face.." Patrick Catani (Candy Hank) www.myspace.com/scarlattigoeselectro http://scarlattigoeselectro.free.fr/ DJ Arc De Triomphe (Thailand) Gaspare Balducci, who runs the Cartilage label, will presents an oddball music selection wich goes from: exotic music oddities from past and present, creepy disco, bizarre soundtracks, outsider music and forgotten euro composers... Loubard (France) Ludovic Boulard's images of Yetis in the surf of the ocean are drawn with intense colour and radical expression. His style seems at times like an inspired mash-up of Aboriginal tribal art, hindu, and manga comic. http://lblf.free.fr/ www.myspace.com/cartilagerecords
